Robbery

Yesterday afternoon Ashby Neighbourhood Officers along with Patrol Officers were made aware of a knife point robbery on Ashby High Street. Due to the seriousness of the offence the suspect was quick to leave the scene in a vehicle, but with the help of witnesses and CCTV the vehicle was spotted heading along Burringham Road. 

Neighbourhood Officers attended a premises the vehicle was reported to stop at and a surround was put in place. Moments later a male matching the description of the offender attempted to flee the address, but when confronted by our Dog Officer and Police Dog quickly gave up on the idea. The male was taken to the floor handcuffed and searched, resulting in a bladed article being found in his possession. 

A 37 year old male is currently in Police custody for robbery, possession of an offensive weapon and public order. The male was also wanted on warrant and has been remanded to attend court for sentencing.
