Suspicious Circumstances - The Ridgeway |
||
Dear Resident, Humberside Police have been made aware of some suspicious incidents over the last month in the area of The Ridgeway, Grimsby. An unknown person has been knocking loudly on doors on The Ridgeway in the early hours of the morning. No exact description has been given other than it is possibly a male, tall with shoulder length hair. Reported times have been between 1am to 5am. There have been approximately 5 separate incidents that are known to us. The latest incident occurred on 03/09/2025 at approximately 1:15am. It is unknown what this persons intentions are and we have not received any reports regarding any crimes being committed (burglary, theft of vehicles, theft of garden items etc) but this is certainly strange behaviour and very concerning for residents in the area. If you have any CCTV footage (including video doorbell), saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time or have any information about the offenders please contact the police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting occurrence ref: 25*125243.
Please be vigilant and if you see anyone acting suspiciously in the area then please report this on 101, or 999 if a crime is in progress. Remember to keep your own property secure to reduce the opportunity for thieves, remember WIDEN. You can watch a short vide on WIDEN here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKN8337RDIY WINDOWS: Keep your windows closed and locked. INTERIOR: Put your interior lights on a timer or smart bulb. DOORS: Double or deadlock your doors. EXTERIOR: Put your exterior lights on a sensor (preferably dusk to dawn). NEIGHBOURS: Keep an eye out for neighbours. To assist us in identifying stolen property please consider property marking high value items using Forensic Marking or UV pens. You are also advised to register property at www.immobilise.com which is a free on-line property register used by police forces nationwide to reunite stolen goods to their owners. All you have to do is register on-line and then upload properties electrical items serial numbers. If you have a burglar alarm ensure it is set and working.
