Crime Alert - Theft of a Vehicle |
||
Hare Coursing,
As harvest season is upon, if you do seem people hare coursing, usually large lurcher type dogs chasing hares across fields, please report this to Police. Offenders often drive 4x4 type vehicles across fields that have been harvested or recently re-sown causing large amounts of damage and financial harm to famers. Often these vehicles are not road worthy or insured
If you do see anything suspicious please call us on 101 and give us as much information as possible that can be passed onto Officers.
If you see a crime in progress please always call 999 and quote Op Galileo which will send this information to the Rural Task Force.
Local Neighbourhood Officers and Rural Task Force Officers work hard to detect, prevent and bring those responsible to justice for the damage caused to land, crops and the unnecessary suffering to animals. Hare coursing is often a pre-cursor crime to other crimes such as thefts from farms and burglaries, so any information you give us helps us get hold of these individuals.
Thank you for your on-going support.
Please also find attached the Police Crime Prevention Handbook which covers a broad range of crime prevention advice.
Thank you
