Tackling antisocial behaviour in north Hull – a partnership approach

Neighbourhood Policing officers based in north Hull work relentlessly to keep our streets safe, one of the key challenges they face is antisocial behaviour.

This week is antisocial behaviour awareness week, and as part of the Clear, Hold, Build project, the team have been intensifying efforts to speak to the local community and hear their thoughts and feelings about their neighbourhood.

The Clear, Hold, Build project is designed to aid residents in rebuilding and reclaiming their neighbourhoods that are currently affected by criminality and antisocial behaviour. The team has been out in the community alongside partners from Hull City Council and Humberside Fire and Rescue, actively connecting with residents to listen, understand their concerns and spread awareness of the many initiatives that the force has in place for support.

Sergeant Andy Waller from the Neighbourhood Policing team said “Our team continues to work tirelessly to ensure every voice in the community is heard, and the action taken last week is just one example of the many ongoing efforts we’re making to support and protect the area.

“Whilst the activities conducted this week are being highlighted due to the nationwide ASB awareness week, I want to reiterate that we conduct this type of the activity on a daily basis. We are here to be seen and listen to the concerns of the communities that we serve every day.

“We collaborate with many organisations to tackle antisocial behaviour and criminality in the area, our is a great example of this. Through HOPE we have helped open community allotments, the HOPE Muga, as well as Alphabet and Dingley Pocket Parks. These actions alongside many other infrastructure improvements all aim to increase the cohesion in the community deterring antisocial behaviour and leading to people feeling safer on their streets.
