Illegal Fishing

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Wildlife Crime Issues, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

Humberside Police Rural Task Force have recently been made aware of reports of illegal fishing across the East Riding of Yorkshire.

The Rural Task Force is working with the Environment Agency and other partners to disrupt and deter those who fish illegally. The annual closed season runs between 15th March and 15th June (inclusive).

Please remain vigilant and report illegal fishing activity to Humberside Police online, 101 or 999 in an emergency or call the Environment Agency on 0800 80 70 60.

If you ever experience this issue or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.humberside.police.uk, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101.

Alternatively, you can stay 100 per cent anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
