*High Value Agricultural GPS Theft*


Crime report 25000062443 refers

 

Please be aware that It has been reported that overnight in the Etton area of The East Riding of Yorkshire a Agricultural GPS receiver dome and screen have been stolen out of a Case Puma. 

 

At 0200hrs in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 8th May 2025 high value GPS equipment has been stolen. 

 

Suspects have entered an agricultural shed, climbed up and removed the GPS receiver off the roof of the tractor and then removed the screen from inside the cab. Suspects are then seen the leave the farm. 

 

If you have witnessed any suspicious persons or vehicles in the vicinity of Etton during these hours please contact police on 101 quoting 25000062443 or Log 71 08/05/2025. 

Be reminded to lock away property and keep machinery safe. 

Installing alarms, high quality CCTV and security lighting can help deter criminals looking to steal property. 

 

Remember the 3 x R's of Rural Crime Prevention:

RECORD - Record serial numbers, make/model, descriptions and photographs of your vehicles and equipment

REPORT - Report suspicious behaviour (vehicles and people) and crimes even if you feel there is nothing that can be done

Tractor GPS Screens

  • Remove screens when not in use – ensure they are left in a safe and secure location.
  • Mark screens using Forensic Marking and use the provided stickers to advertise forensic marking is in use
  • Record serial numbers
  • Tractor GPS Receivers

  • If not in use, disconnect, remove and secure in a safe location
  • Remove from roof if not in use and tractor is being used on road – this will prevent advertising the fact you have a receiver.
  • Ensure the software is up to date, and marked with security warning stickers
  • Consider securing the tractor in a locked alarmed shed
  • Record serial numbers
  • Please also make sure your device is properly insured as it may need to be a separate item on your insurance, especially once removed from machinery.     

     

    To assist us in identifying stolen property please consider property marking high value items using Forensic Marking or UV pens.  You are also advised to register property at www.immobilise.com which is a free on-line property register used by police forces nationwide to reunite stolen goods to their owners. All you have to do is register on-line and then upload properties electrical items serial numbers.
