A man has been arrested following an alleged assault at a pub on Market Place in Pocklington yesterday evening (Monday 28, April).

It is reported at around 8.25pm that man approached another man and reportedly punched him in the face before knocking him off his chair.

A 46-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault by off-duty police officers.

The man was taken to hospital to be checked over for injuries to his ribs as a precaution and has since been discharged.
