Out of control Dog

Log 339 23/04/2025

Humberside Police have received a report of a dog out of control and running onto a private Golf club.

The report details a Spaniel / Cocker type dog has been let out and running on the golf course and chasing nearby wild animals including deer's.  This has occurred three out of four days over the Easter Bank Holiday. The dog has been seen running and chasing deer's and looking for them in woodland. No visible owner has been seen and no owner of the dog has been traced thus far.

It is important to stress that offences may be committed under the Hunting Act 2004 with such behaviour. Owners of dogs are responsible for them at all times and must keep them under control in public, and not allow them to become out of control and chase wild mammals. Furthermore dogs must not be able to escape the boundaries of their property and risk getting out into the public or private land.
