Dear residents of Marfleet,
This is a message to keep you up to date with the work that has been ongoing by police and other agencies on your ward during the last couple of months.
Firstly, I would like to thank you all for your repeated assistance in calling the police whenever you feel the need to as it helps us keep best up to date with any issues that you are experiencing so we can be as proactive as possible in dealing with such matters.
Most recently, we received numerous calls about the caravans that have set up camp on Stonebridge Avenue playing fields. Thanks to your prompt calls to police and Hull City council, we were able to act quickly in attending together and form a risk assessment to start official proceedings. After council started their proceedings, the group moved off the field on Saturday 29th March 2025 and council have been contacted to clean up any rubbish left.
At the end of February, several warrants were conducted at addresses across Marfleet after intelligence had been gathered from the community about possible drug dealing from addresses. These warrants led to several arrests with a large quantity of drugs, cash, and weapons such as knives being found and seized by police and taken off your streets.
Also, during the last two months, several prolific shop lifters where arrested and given various lengths of custodial sentences and still remain in custody at the time of sending this message. Lots of work goes into catching shop lifters such as engaging with the shops themselves to gain valuable CCTV evidence, statements and to positively identify the offenders.
Away from the issues you report to us though, during the last two months meetings where also held at Craven Park for the fast-approaching Coldplay concert and discussions were held around how to safely manage this without negatively effecting you as a community as we can expect a high volume of traffic during these times.
The majority of the work we do comes off the back of reports made by the public and concerns passed onto us. However, as well as concerns for the area we also like to hear positive feedback about what you may like about the area you live in. This is so we know what not to affect whenever working with the council and continue to make Marfleet a ward you like to live in.
I hope this provides an interesting insight into the work that has been ongoing during the last two months and thank you for reading.
Thanks for reading! If you found this information useful, please help us spread the word by forwarding this email to your friends.
Make a difference in your community – help us to help you!
Regards
