OP SNAP – How you can help tackle road-related crime and anti-social driving

Dear community,

Thanks to the information provided by you, the community, the local policing team and North East Lincolnshire council have been working towards the disruption and sanctioning of anti-social driving and road traffic offences along the NORTH PROMENADE. So far, we have seen a reduction in offences and key offenders no longer returning to the area, which we are celebrating as a small success.

However, the problem-solving does not stop after a small success. As we continue to work with other agencies in order to implement preventative measures, more patrols are being conducted during peak times, in order to catch the offenders in the act. This is, however, a resource-heavy commitment that is not the answer to this problem.

Launched in 2023, Humberside Police’s OP SNAP is an online platform wherein members of the public can submit videos of poor driving behaviours directly to the police, allowing us to deal with the incidents that we aren’t there to see. By the end of last year, Humberside Police had dealt with over 2,000 convictions as a result of the public’s video submissions.

To help tackle the ongoing issue in your community, we are urging you to submit any evidence that you have using the links below. With your help, every camera, every dashcam and every smartphone could be the key to ensuring your community’s road safety.

I want to take this time to thank you for your ongoing support throughout this project. Contact your local officers for more information on how you can help tackle ward issues.
