Hedon Crime Alert - Burglary Residential |

Dear Resident Humberside Police are investigating a report of a distraction Burglary from Greens Road, HEDON. The incident occurred around 12:17pm on Wednesday 15 January 2025. The offender dressed in work wear and presented as a gas engineer and was allowed into the address, a handbag was then taken from the living room. If you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time or have any information about the offenders please contact the police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting occurrence ref: 25*6194. Alternatively you could call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. You don’t have to leave your name and you may even receive a reward. Always follow the police's Doorstep Code:Don't open the door without using the Doorstep Code. Observe first - always look through a window or door viewer Only open the door after connecting a chain or limiter Refuse entry if you are not satisfied Switch on outside lights when it's dark to see who's there Think 'thief' - ask to see an identity card and check it closely Ensure strangers are not left alone in your home Protect yourself - if you are worried ring the police Remember to keep your own property secure to reduce the opportunity for thieves. Whenever possible lock your doors and windows in unoccupied rooms even if you are in the house. Please be reminded to lock your doors and to keep any security gates closed and locked at all times
