Anti-Social Behaviour

Dear Resident,

Humberside Police have been investigating reports of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) from the Grimsby Leisure Centre, Grimsby Ice Rink and the surrounding area on Cromwell Road, Grimsby.

The reported incidents have occurred over the last two weeks with an increased amount of anti-social behaviour, criminal damage and public order offences. The reports describe some of the behaviour, including large groups of young people congregating in restricted areas, being rude and abusive to staff at the venues when requested to move, gaining access to the roof of the buildings which is very dangerous and throwing golf balls and ice at passers by.

Some of the criminal investigations are currently ongoing, but we have now identified 16 young people who have been involved in the general anti-social behaviour in this area. Over the last week, officers from the Grimsby West policing team have visited each individual at their home address where we have spoken with the relevant parent(s) to make them aware of their child's involvement in some of these issues. An ASB warning letter has also been issued to each individual. Should these individuals come to our attention again then we will look at anti-social behaviour contracts and other means to reduce this type of behaviour.

If you are a victim of anti-social behaviour or crime then you can report incidents by calling 101, or through Humberside Police's web site HERE.  or anonymously to Crimestoppers HERE  or call them 0800 555111.

Make a difference to your community by helping us to help you!
